How to find the issue date on the ID or Passport

The issue date of the ID card or Passport is an important reference because it helps determine its validity. It is clear that the ID card or Passport are important documents, even more so for identification when travelling. In version 4.0, the issue date of the ID card can be found on the front side, just below the word "ISSUE". The expiry date, however, is located just to the right of the issue date.

Finding the issue date on the ID card is extremely straightforward. In version 2.0, you need to look at the front left side inside a box labelled "DNI". The numbers printed above are the issue date.

A total of 6 digits are used, with the first two corresponding to the day, the next two to the month, and the last two to the year. For example, if the number is 280715, it means the ID card was issued on 28 July 2015.

The passport is a document used for travelling. And the way to identify the issue date is even simpler, if anything, than in the case of the ID card.

In the case of the passport, you need to look at the main page. Once you open it, where your photo and personal details appear, you will find the issue date and, in addition, the validity expiry date.
